UMANG 2017 Senior Citizens Blasted the stage

"Ageing is not 'lost youth' but a new stage of opportunity and strength"



UMANG - A Unique Stage Talent Show for Seniors was held on March 25th 2017 from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Birla Matoshree Sabhagriha, New Marine Lines, Mumbai, Presented by Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman Point, Rotaract Club of Rizvi  law College and Inner Wheel Club of Mumbai Nariman point in association with Silver Inning Foundation, NGO working with Senior Citizens. 

India’s largest and Mumbai’s first of its kind programme for 50+ Senior Citizens gives the elderly an opportunity to show their talent. The programme seeks to provide them with a platform to display their talents. This is not a competition – there are no prizes for being the best – but it is a forum to encourage them to demonstrate their hidden talent. ‘UMANG’ a Unique Talent show of Senior Citizens is being organized by Silver Inning Foundation since 2008.

Around 134 participant from 50 years of age to 79years participated in the event to show their unique stage talent. 1000 plus people out of which 95% were Senior Citizens attended the event to witness the Silver Magic. Refreshment and information sheet on ‘Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007’ was given to all those who attended the event. 

This time uniqueness was Fitness Dance, Dance presentation on Swaach Bharat, Intergenerational performance ‘Kalam Ko Salam’ and Duet dance by Differently able Senior Citizens Couple. There were also different performances on Bollywood dance, Songs, Folk dance Khelu Jhimma. 

Says Sailesh Mishra Founder of Silver Inning Foundation, “We organise UMANG, a talent show for seniors every year since 2008. Unlike other talent shows, there are no prizes for winning the top three positions. Everybody is a winner. It is amazing to see the level of enthusiasm among seniors to perform on the stage”. We give Certificate to all Participant and Trophy to all group and Individual act. 

Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman Point, President Rtn. Mandar Sharma say’s “this noble initiatives for our elderly is close to Our heart. Since 2010 UMANG in association with Silver Innings, this has been one of the most sought after event for our senior citizens, which they await every year. We have been delighted with growing enthusiasm, innovation and impact this event has created in heart & mind of our elderly. We look forward for continuing our support for this wonderful cause and would encourage many more to join to ensure we take this event to higher levels”.

This year there were 11 Prizes for Audience, 5 for Best Traditional Dress, 5 for LUCKY DRAWS and 1 Diamond Ring.

UMANG 2017 Senior Citizens Talent Show Mumbai

We are back again with our Mega Senior Citizens Talent Show UMANG 2017.

Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman Point, Rotaract Club of Rizvi  Law College, Inner Wheel Club  and Silver Inning Foundation once again organizes UMANG - A Unique Stage Talent Show program for  55+ Senior Citizens. UMANG Talent show of Senior Citizens was started by Silver Inning Foundation in year 2008.

India’s largest and Mumbai’s first of its kind programme for 55+ Senior Citizens gives the elderly an opportunity to show their talent. The programme seeks to provide them with a platform to display their talents. This is not a competition – there are no prizes for being the best – but it is a forum to encourage them to demonstrate their hidden talent.

Last year in 2016 around 125 participant from 50 years of age to 79years participated in the event to show their unique stage talent. 1000 plus people out of which 90% were Senior Citizens attended the event to witness the Silver Magic. Refreshment and ‘Senior Citizens Safety Tip’ was given to all those who attended the event.
