acescI was given an unsolicitated credit card by ICICI Bank for which I've been regular in payments.
My first problem arose when I was told that I had not paid when I had dropped the cheque in the ICICI Bank Mahim Branch drop box. I was asked to produce the receipt for the dropped cheque. When I met the Manager with a request that I talk to the box that gives a receipt with a smile he asked me to submit the cheque at the counter for which the bill be will stamped in acvknowledgement. This went off fine till one fine day I was told that a payment which was handed in was not found at their end. despite giving proof every month when the current bill was duly paid the bank keeps loading me with penal interest which i've refused to pay. i've even submitted a written complaint and cut my card into four pieces. i'm informed that the card is frozen, even when i've informed them of my stopping u its use.i've been threatened of being reported to CIBIL. As a Sr. citizen i don't intend going in for any credit limits for car or house they may do as they please.
Earlier i've returned three unsolicitated cards including on co-branded with the Inst. of Chartered Accountants.
Their sending me inflated statements month after month only cumulutating the charges and reminders on the phone is irritating. Their debits only inflate their NPAs. Its time they call off the bluff.
